framing day

the other day, i went into craft warehouse to work on some personal projects. today i finally got around to taking photos of what i framed.

i found a great little 12x16 creweled jewel at goodwill for $1.99.

$1.99, PEOPLE! so this is what i did to revamp it:

- new gorgeous wood frame

- re-stretched it on acid free foam core and used stainless steel pins

- added 1/8" frame space (to allow for the different level of stitches)

- put glass on it

in addition to the above crewel work, i found this adorable 11x14 cross stitch piece for $4.99. i liked the frame on this one, so i just restretched and pinned it and put it back into the frame.

i framed my new gingibear fox print (thanks aunt linda!).

here's what i did:

-put it into a great dusted black 11x14 floral frame

- added a triple mat with reversed bevels:

a garnet at 1/4" reveal, 1/16" reveal of mustard for a nice pop,

and then topped it off with a lovely neutral mocha linen mat.

- finished it off with glass

i also finally got this small print i found in an art book done. it's evelyn pickering de morgan'smedea. here's what i did:

-reused an 8x10 frame i already had (it is PERFECT for medea!)

- cut a triple mat with reversed bevels:

1/16" of gold for shimmer, 1/4" of wine,

and topped it off with a olive/earth tone mat

- put some conservation clear glass on it since i didn't have any in the old frame

tights: whoops, still don't remember
