out sick

i was actually surprised when i went to check what today was. you see, i've been sick since about sunday. i hung out with my friend, jessie, on saturday, but she didn't tell me she was sick until she got in my car and started hacking up a lung. so here i am, on thursday, hacking up my lungs. i missed my wednesday wishes, but since i've been under the weather, my only wish is for my health back. a doctor visit yesterday sent me home with a negative strep test, so i've just got to rest and take care.

anyway, how about a reaffirmation to keep doing my wednesday wishes.. guess what came to me in the mail the other day? remember this beauty by gingiber that i posted about here?
well, my aunt sent it to me as a thank you for framing some art that her grand kids made for her for christmas. here is one of the pieces i framed by my cousin gabriel.
isn't it super cute?? i love that he named it, "a little bit of everything." the bright metallic metal frames we have were PERFECT for this piece. this is the other one by my aunt's grandson george. he made it for his grandpa this last christmas. my aunt sent this photo to my uncle and i guess he was super emotional. needless to say, he loved the finished product.
everyone at work loved them. and my aunt was super appreciative. she wrote this nice card when she sent the fox print about how much it meant to her. it was so funny.. i had no idea what the package was and whilst opening kept thinking, oh crap, did i buy something and not remember?? all of a sudden my mom said, "ohhhh," and handed me a card. i guess my aunt told her she was sending me something but we were confused since gingiber sent it directly to me. none of us knew what it was.

on a side note, that is why i love framing. i love the reaction people have when they see what we've done for them. keeping special photos and art work and mementos in something that not only compliments the items but keeps them safe and sound for generations to come to see them - that's what i love. i think i might start a weekly post on some special framing projects our shop does.
